The Campaign funded and worked with eighteen state coalitions
across the nation, committed to advancing new policies and
practices relating to improved civic learning and youth
engagement.

|
Eighteen state coalitions launched state-specific advocacy
action plans to strengthen civic learning policies and practices.
Some state coalitions formed taskforces—drawing
from the public and private sectors—to implement
a shared education policy reform strategy. Other state coalitions
supported civic learning by improving K-12 programs, assessment
tools, professional development, and student participation in
education reform. Taken together, the work of the eighteen states
served as a "laboratory" of field experience that will be used in
the coming years to clarify and inform the work of the Campaign and
its coalition partners.
